Russian presidential candidate Sergei Mironov of A Just Russia party speaking today on RFE/RL’s Russian Service live program in Moscow about the Central Election Commission considering to disqualify Grigory Yavlinsky from running for president:
“I think it’s a political decision. I’ve been involved in elections for a long time, I’ve also collected signatures, and I understand perfectly well that there can be flaws found in any signatures. Even if the signatures are absolutely real, there are always some inaccuracies in the paperwork, and it is always a political decision when signatures are rejected. I think it’s a political mistake to disqualify Grigory Yavlinsky.”
